About Anya17
Composed by 'British Composer Award' Winner Adam Gorb to a libretto written by Ben Kaye, Anya17 was written specifically to raise awareness of the secret world of Sex Trafficking, where up to 800,000 young women and children are Trafficked into the EU every year.
Directed by the award winning director of Slave – A Question of Freedom, Caroline Clegg, Anya17 exposes the intertwined lives of those sold into sexual slavery as they struggle to survive in the hope of ultimate salvation.
The world premiere of Anya17 was on 7th March 2012 in Liverpool UK with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Ensemble 10/10, with further worldwide performances in Romania at the National Opera of Timişoara, the Meininger Theater in Meiningen Germany, and the American Premiere of Anya17 will be performed in the Marines' Memorial Theater in San Francisco in June 2014 by Opera Parallèle.
